And the land trembles and writhes in pain. For every purpose of Jehovah shall rise against Babylon, to set up the land of Babylon a waste without one living in it.
Like a drunken one, the earth is staggering, staggering! And it rocks to and fro like a hut. And its transgression is heavy on it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
But Jehovah is the true God, He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth shall quake, and the nations shall not be able to stand His indignation.
Because of the wrath of Jehovah, it shall not be lived in, but all of it shall be a waste. Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be amazed and hiss at all her plagues.
So hear the counsel of Jehovah that He has planned against Babylon, and His purposes which He has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely they shall not drag them, the little ones of the flock. Surely He will not make their dwelling desolate over them.
The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan; all the land quakes at the sound of the neighing of his stallions. For they come and devour the land and its fullness, the city and those who live in it.
Does not the land quake for this, and all who dwell in it mourn? And all of it shall go up like the light, and it thrusts out and sinks like the Nile of Egypt.
And he cried in a strong, great voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen! It has fallen, and it has become a dwelling place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, and hated,
