I will send him against a godless nation, and on the people of My wrath. I will command him to plunder plunder, and to spoil spoil, and to appoint them a trampling like the mud of the streets.
Also I will make it a possession of a shrinking animal and pools of water; and I will sweep it with the broom of ruin, a statement of Jehovah of Hosts.
And I will give you the treasures of darkness, even treasures in secret places, that you may know that I am Jehovah, who calls you by your name, the God of Israel.
Because of the wrath of Jehovah, it shall not be lived in, but all of it shall be a waste. Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be amazed and hiss at all her plagues.
Shout against her round about. She has given her hand, her foundations have fallen, her walls have been thrown down, for it is Jehovah’s vengeance. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, do to her.
And I will visit Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up. And the nations shall not flow together any more to him; yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
And you shall say, In this way Babylon shall sink and shall not rise from the evil that I am bringing on it, and they shall be weary. So far are the words of Jeremiah.
And my enemy shall see; and shame shall cover her, the one saying to me, Where is He, Jehovah your God? My eyes shall see her. Now she shall be for a trampling, as the mud of the streets.
Observe the birds of the heaven, that they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor do they gather into granaries, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Do you not rather excel them?
And out of His mouth goes forth a sharp sword, that with it He might smite the nations. And He will shepherd them with an iron rod. And He treads the winepress of the wine of the anger and of the wrath of God Almighty.
