Israel is a scattered sheep, driven away by lions. First, the king of Assyria devoured him. And last, this King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon broke his bones.

Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave a thousand talents of silver to Pul, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

In the days of Pekah the king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser the king of Assyria came and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and removed them to Assyria.

In his days Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim was a servant to him three years; and he turned and rebelled against him.

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and the city came under siege.

And it happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth of the month, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and camped against it, and built a siege mound all around it.

And Tiglath-pileser the king of Assyria came against him and distressed him, but did not make him strong,

And Jehovah brought against them the heads of army that was to the king of Assyria, and they captured Manasseh with hooks, and bound him with bronze fetters, and made him go to Babylon.

For Dimon’s waters are full of blood; for I will put on Dimon things I add, a lion on him for the fugitives from Moab, and for the remnant of the land.

I was angry with My people; I defiled My inheritance and gave them into your hand. You gave them no compassion; you made your yoke on the aged very heavy.

Pour out Your fury on the nations who do not know You, and on the families who do not call on Your name. For they have eaten up Jacob. Yea, they ate him up and have finished him, and they have made his dwelling place desolate.

The young lions roared against him; they gave their voice. And they laid waste his land; his cities are burned, without one living in it.

And afterward, a statement of Jehovah, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and those who remain in this city from the plague, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their lives. And he shall strike them with the mouth of the sword; he shall not spare them, and not have pity, and not have compassion.

The lion has come up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his place to make your land a waste. Your cities will fall into ruins without one living in them.

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of Jordan against the home of the strong. But I will suddenly made him run away from it, and who is the chosen one I shall appoint over it? For who is like Me? And who will summon Me? And who then is that shepherd who will stand before Me?

And they will eat up your harvest and your food, and they will eat up your sons and your daughters. They will eat up your flocks and your herds; they will eat up your vines and your fig trees. One shall beat down your fortified cities with the sword, those in which you trust.

On account of this a lion out of the forest shall strike them; a wolf of the desert shall destroy them; a leopard is watching over their cities. Everyone who goes out from them shall be torn, because their transgressions are many; their apostasies are numerous.

My people are lost sheep, their shepherd has led them astray; they turned them back on the mountains, they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.

They shall roar together like lions, they shall growl like lions’ cubs.

Zedekiah was a son of twenty-one years when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

As the shepherd seeks his flock in the day that he is among his scattered sheep, so I will seek out My sheep and will deliver them from all the places where they were scattered in a day of cloud, and thick cloud.

And the king commanded, and they brought those men who had eaten the piece of Daniel. And they threw them into the lions’ den, them, their sons and their wives. And the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones before they reached to the bottom of the den.

and I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, for My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they shared out My land.

For you were “straying sheep,” Isa. 53:4-6 but now you are turned back to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
