Jeremiah 5:6

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

On account of this a lion out of the forest shall strike them; a wolf of the desert shall destroy them; a leopard is watching over their cities. Everyone who goes out from them shall be torn, because their transgressions are many; their apostasies are numerous.

Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people were continually acting unfaithfully according to all the disgusting things of the nations; and they defiled the house of Jehovah that He had sanctified in Jerusalem.

And Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, You have trespassed and have dwelt with foreign women, to increase the guilt of Israel.

And I said, O my God, I am ashamed and humiliated to lift up my face to You, O my God. For our iniquities have increased over our head, and our guiltiness has grown to the heavens.

And if if rise, You would hunt me as a lion; and again You show Yourself wonderful in me.

You put darkness, and it is night; in it all the forest animals creep.

A wild boar out of the forest wastes it, and the moving creatures of the field feed on it.

Your rulers are rebelling and are companions of thieves. Everyone loves a present, and is pursuing bribes. They do not judge the orphan, nor does the cause of the widow come to them.

For our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us. For our transgressions are with us, and our iniquities, we know them;

O Jehovah, though our iniquities testify against us, act for Your name’s sake; for our apostasies are many; we have sinned against You.

The young lions roared against him; they gave their voice. And they laid waste his land; his cities are burned, without one living in it.

Have you not done this to yourself by your forsaking Jehovah your God when He led you by the way?

Your own evil shall instruct you, and your apostasies shall reprove you. Therefore know and see that your forsaking Jehovah your God is evil and bitter; and My fear is not in you, a statement of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts.

O generation, see the Word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam; we will come no more to You.

Like the young lion, He has left His den; for their land is a waste because of the anger of oppressing ones, and because of the anger of His face.

All those loving you have forgotten you; they do not seek you. For I have struck you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastening of a cruel one, because of the greatness of your iniquity. Your sins are many.

Why do you cry out over your crushing? Your pain is incurable, for the greatness of your iniquity; your sins are many, so I have done these things to you.

The glow of Jehovah’s anger will not turn back until He has executed, and until He has established the purposes of His heart. In latter days you will understand it.

The lion has come up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his place to make your land a waste. Your cities will fall into ruins without one living in them.

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of Jordan against the home of the strong. But I will suddenly made him run away from it, and who is the chosen one I shall appoint over it? For who is like Me? And who will summon Me? And who then is that shepherd who will stand before Me?

Why has this people, Jerusalem, turned back to a perpetual apostasy? They hold fast to deceit. They refuse to turn back.

Also the stork in the heavens knows her seasons, and the turtledove and the swallow and the thrush observe the time of their coming. But My people do not know the judgment of Jehovah.

Her oppressive ones have become as chief; her enemies are at ease. For Jehovah has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions. Her children have gone, captive before the oppressive ones.

At the head of every highway you have built your high place, and have made your beauty despised. And you have parted your feet to all who passed by, and have multiplied your fornications.

Her rulers in her midst are like wolves tearing prey, to pour out blood, to destroy souls, in order to gain unjust gain.

And she multiplied her fornications to recall the days of her youth, in which she had fornicated in the land of Egypt.

The first was like a lion and wings of an eagle were to it. I was seeing until its wings were torn off. And it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

After this I was seeing, and, behold, another like a leopard, and to it were four wings of a bird on its side. And also to the beast were four heads; and dominion was given to it.

For I am to Ephraim as the lion, and as the young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, tear and go; I bear away, and no one rescues.

And his horses are swifter than leopards and are fiercer than the evening wolves. And their horsemen spread themselves; yea, their horsemen come from afar; they shall fly as the eagle hurrying to eat.

Her rulers within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they do not gnaw bones for the morning.

And, behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to add still more to the anger of Jehovah toward Israel!

And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as a lion’s mouth. And the dragon gave its power to it, and its throne, and great authority.
