And My fury and My anger poured out and burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. And they are for a waste and for a desolation as at this day.
Awake! Awake! Rise up, O Jerusalem, who drank the cup of His fury from the hand of Jehovah; you drank the bowl of the cup of reeling; you fully drained it.
Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of all the outside places, like an antelope in a net, filled with the fury of Jehovah, the rebuke of your God.
And I said, Until when, O Lord? And He said, Until cities lie desolate without one living in them, and the houses without man, and the land is laid waste, a desolation;
O house of David, so says Jehovah: Judge justice for the morning, and deliver the one plundered out of the hand of the one oppressing, that My fury not go out like fire and burn so that none can put it out, because of the evil of your doings.
Behold, I will command and cause them to return to this city, a statement of Jehovah. And they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire. And I will make the cities of Judah to be a desolation, without one to live in it.
Perhaps their supplication will fall before Jehovah, and each man will turn from his evil way. For great is the anger and the wrath that Jehovah has spoken against this people.
Circumcise yourselves to Jehovah, and take away the foreskin of your heart, O men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, lest My fury go forth like fire and burn, so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
For so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, As My anger and My fury has poured out upon the people of Jerusalem, so shall My fury pour out on you when you enter Egypt. And you shall be a curse, and a horror, and a shame, and a reproach, and you shall not see this place again.
And Jehovah could not still bear it because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations you have done. And your land became a waste, and a horror, and a curse, without one living in it, as this day.
So the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place, on man and on animal, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and will not be put out.
Then I will cause the voice of gladness to cease from the streets of Jerusalem, even the voice of joy, and the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. For the land shall become a waste.
And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the remnant of those who remain of this evil family, those who remain there in all the places there where I have driven them away, a statement of Jehovah of Hosts.
How alone sits the city that was full of people! She has become like a widow, one great among the nations; a noblewoman among the provinces has become a payer of tribute.
From on high He has sent fire into my bones and subdued them. He spread a net for my feet; He has turned me back; He gave me desolation; all the days I faint.
And I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands in which you are scattered among them with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.
In your defilement is wickedness. Because I have cleansed you, yet you are not cleansed; you shall not be cleansed from your defilement any more until I have caused My fury to cease on you.
And My anger shall be spent, and I will make My fury rest on them, and I will be eased. And they shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in My zeal, in My completing My fury among them.
He who is far off shall die by the plague, and he who is near shall fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine; so I will complete My fury on them.
And I also will deal with fury. My eye shall not spare, and I will not have pity. And though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, even I will not hear them.
And He has raised up His words which He spoke against us, and against our judges who judge us, by bringing on us a great evil, which under the whole heavens has not been done as it has been done to Jerusalem.
God is jealous, and Jehovah is avenging, Jehovah is avenging and is a possessor of fury. Jehovah keeps avenging to His flinty ones, and He keeps wrath against His enemies.
But My words and My statutes which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they turned back and said, As Jehovah of Hosts planned to do to us, according to our ways and according to our doings, so He has done with us.
But I stormed them away on all the nations whom they did not know. And the land is desolated behind them, from passing and from turning back; for they made the land of desire a waste.
