For I will call to account those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have called to account Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague,
So Jehovah of Hosts says this: Behold, I will call them to account. The young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine.
He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the plague. But he who goes out and falls to the Chaldeans who are besieging you, he shall live, and his life shall be for a prize to him.
And I will send the sword, the famine, and the plague among them until they are consumed from being upon the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.
I will even make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, for a reproach, and a proverb, a gibe, and a curse, there in all places where I will drive them.
And now therefore hear the Word of Jehovah, remnant of Judah, So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: If setting you set your faces to go into Egypt, and go to sojourn there,
even it shall be, the sword which you feared shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt. And the famine which you were anxious about shall cling to you there in Egypt, and you shall die there.
And it shall be to all the men who have set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there, they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague, and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring on them.
For so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, As My anger and My fury has poured out upon the people of Jerusalem, so shall My fury pour out on you when you enter Egypt. And you shall be a curse, and a horror, and a shame, and a reproach, and you shall not see this place again.
And when he comes, he shall strike the land of Egypt. And who ever is for death shall go to death; and whoever is for captivity shall go into captivity; and whoever is for the sword, to the sword.
For, behold, they have gone from destruction; Egypt shall gather them; Memphis shall bury them. Nettles shall possess the desirable things of their silver; thorns shall be in their tents.
