Declare in Judah, and make it heard in Jerusalem, and say, Blow the rams’ horn in the land. Cry, and say, It will be ended. Gather yourselves and go into the fortified cities.
As often as it passes, it shall take you; for it shall pass in the morning, in the morning, in the day and in the night, it shall only be a terror to understand the message.
But it was when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, and we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem, because of the army of the Chaldeans and because of the army of Syria. And we live in Jerusalem.
O sons of Benjamin take refuge from the midst of Jerusalem. And blow the rams’ horn in Tekoa; and set up a signal over Beth-haccerem. For evil looks down out of the north, and a great shattering.
Why do we sit still? Gather yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there. For Jehovah our God has made us silent there, and He has made us drink water of poison because we have sinned against Jehovah.
Who is the wise man that can understand this? And he to whom the mouth of Jehovah has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish? It is burned up like the wilderness, so that no one passes through.
Put a rams’ horn to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have passed over My covenant and have transgressed against My Law.
Make two trumpets of silver for yourself. You shall make them of hammered work, and they shall be to you for the calling of the congregation, and for causing the camps to pull up stakes.
And it happened, when Joshua and the sons of Israel had finished them with a very great blow, until they were consumed, and the survivors of them who escaped went into the fortified cities,
