Jeremiah 4:1King James 3 - The Literal TraslationIf you will return, O Israel, a statement of Jehovah, return to Me. And if you will turn away from your detestable things out of My face and will not wander , See the chapter |
And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the Mount of Corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the idol of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the idol of the Moabites, and for Milcom the disgusting idol of the sons of Ammon, the king defiled.
And also the mediums and the spiritknowers and the family gods, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, Josiah put away in order to fulfill the words of the Law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the house of Jehovah.
And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he made himself strong and removed the detestable idols out of the land of Judah and Benjamin; and out of the cities that he had captured from the hills of Ephraim. And he restored the altar of Jehovah that was before the porch of Jehovah.
I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying, Each man now turn back from his evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall live in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers. But you have not stretched out your ear, and not listened to Me.
