And Jacob said to his house, and to all those with him, Put away the strange gods in your midst, and purify yourselves, and change your clothing.

And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the Mount of Corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the idol of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the idol of the Moabites, and for Milcom the disgusting idol of the sons of Ammon, the king defiled.

And also the mediums and the spiritknowers and the family gods, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, Josiah put away in order to fulfill the words of the Law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the house of Jehovah.

And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he made himself strong and removed the detestable idols out of the land of Judah and Benjamin; and out of the cities that he had captured from the hills of Ephraim. And he restored the altar of Jehovah that was before the porch of Jehovah.

And I will not again remove the foot of Israel from off the land that I made stand to your fathers; only, if they take heed to do all that I have commanded them toward all the Law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.

And Josiah removed all the disgusting things out of all the lands that belonged to the sons of Israel, and caused everyone who was found in Israel to serve, to serve Jehovah their God; all his days they did not turn away from following Jehovah, the God of their fathers.

Turn back to Him against whom you have made a deep revolt, sons of Israel.

So Jehovah says this: If you turn back, even I will bring you back; you shall stand before Me. And if you take the precious from the worthless, you shall be as My mouth. They may turn back to you, but do not turn back to them.

And I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah; for what he did in Jerusalem.

And now please speak to the men of Judah and to those living in Jerusalem, saying, So says Jehovah, Behold, I am forming evil against you, and devising a plan against you. Now each man turn back from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

I will even make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, for a reproach, and a proverb, a gibe, and a curse, there in all places where I will drive them.

saying, Now turn each man from his evil way and from the evil of your doings, and live on the land which Jehovah has given to you and to your fathers from forever even to forever.

They say, If a man sends away his wife, and she goes from him and will be for another man, will he return to her again? Would not that land be greatly defiled? But you fornicate with many lovers; yet would you come back to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

Go and cry these words toward the north, and say, Return, O apostate Israel, a statement of Jehovah. I will not cause My face to fall on you, for I am holy, a statement of Jehovah; I will not keep anger forever.

Turn back, O apostate sons, a statement of Jehovah; for I am Lord over you. And I will take you, one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

Return, O apostate sons; I will heal your apostasies. Behold, we come to You, for You are Jehovah our God.

I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying, Each man now turn back from his evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall live in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers. But you have not stretched out your ear, and not listened to Me.

Perhaps the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I plan to do to them, that they may each man turn from his evil way, and I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.

Circumcise yourselves to Jehovah, and take away the foreskin of your heart, O men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, lest My fury go forth like fire and burn, so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will let you dwell in this place.

For if amending you amend your ways and your doings; if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor;

even I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from forever and to forever.

And they will come there, and they will remove all its abominable things and all its disgusting things from it.

he has given on interest and has taken increase; shall he also live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; dying he shall die; his blood shall be on him.

Now let them put away their fornications and the corpses of their kings from Me, and I will dwell in their midst forever.

O Israel, return to Jehovah your God, for you have fallen by your iniquity.

Strive! Strive with your mother, for she is not My wife, and I am not her husband. Therefore, let her put away her fornications from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts,

They turn not to the Most High. They are like a treacherous bow. Their rulers shall fall by the sword from the rage of the tongue. This shall be their scorn in the land of Egypt.

Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with wailing, a statement of Jehovah.

Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have proclaimed to them, saying, So says Jehovah of Hosts: Turn back now from your evil ways and your evil doings. But they did not attend or hearken to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

Cursed is the man who makes a carved or molten image, a disgusting thing to Jehovah, the work of a craftsman’s hands, and who sets it up in a secret place! And all the people shall answer and say, Amen!

in your distress, when all these things have found you, in the latter days, then you shall return to Jehovah your God, and shall listen to His voice.

Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth, and turn away from the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, and in Egypt; and you serve Jehovah.

And they removed the gods of the alien from among them, and served Jehovah. And His soul was shortened with the misery of Israel.

And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, saying, If you are returning to Jehovah with all your heart, put aside the gods of the foreigner from among you, and the Ashtaroth. And prepare your heart to Jehovah, and serve Him only, and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
