even they sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison. And they gave him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to cause him to go out to the house; and he lived among the people.

And Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went to Huldah, the prophetess, the wife of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, the keeper of the wardrobe; and she lived in Jerusalem, in the second quarter. And they spoke with her.

And Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him a piece of bread out of the baker’s street daily, until all the bread of the city was gone. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison until the day Jerusalem was taken, and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

And they drew up Jeremiah with ropes and brought him up out of the pit. And Jeremiah dwelt in the court of the prison.

And Nebuzaradan, the chief of the executioners, and Nebushasban the chief of the eunuchs, and Nergal-sharezer, chief magician, and all the rulers of the king of Babylon, sent,

And the Word of Jehovah was to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

The Word which was to Jeremiah from Jehovah, after Nebuzaradan, the chief of the executioners, had sent him from Ramah, when he had taken him and he was bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah being exiled to Babylon.

Even while he had not yet returned, he said, Or go back to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and live with him among the people, or to all that is right in your eyes to go, go. And the chief of the executioners gave him ration and a reward, and sent him away.

And Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam at Mizpah, and he lived with him among the people remaining in the land.

And when all the heads of the armies who were in the field, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, over the land, and had appointed with him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of those who were not exiled to Babylon,

And it was in the seventh month, Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal seed, and of the chief ones of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, to Mizpah. And they ate bread together there in Mizpah.
