Jeremiah 38:4

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Therefore the rulers said to the king, Please cause this man to die. For in this way he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking these words to them. For this man does not seek the peace of this people, but the evil.

And the priests and the prophets spoke to the rulers, and to all the people, saying, Let a sentence of death be for this man, for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.

And seek the peace of the city, there where I have caused you to be exiled. And pray to Jehovah for it; for in its peace you shall have peace.

And Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, As Jehovah lives, who made us this soul, I will not cause you to die, and I will not give you into the hand of these men who seek your soul.

But if the rulers hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you and say to you, Now declare to us what you said to the king; do not hide it from us and we will not cause you to die; also, What did the king say to you?

But Baruch, the son of Neriah, is inciting you against us, to give us into the hand of the Chaldeans, to cause us to die, and to exile us to Babylon.

Her rulers in her midst are like wolves tearing prey, to pour out blood, to destroy souls, in order to gain unjust gain.

And Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to endure all his words.

And they began to accuse Him, saying, we found this man perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying Himself to be Christ, a king.

And bringing them near to the magistrates, they said, These men are completely disturbing our city, being Jews,

But not finding them, they dragged Jason and some brothers before the city judges, crying, The ones disturbing the inhabited earth have come here, too;

For having found this man a pestilence and moving insurrection among all the Jews throughout the world, and a leader of the Nazarene sect;

But we think it fit to hear from you as to what you think, for truly as concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.
