Jeremiah 37:21

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him a piece of bread out of the baker’s street daily, until all the bread of the city was gone. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison until the day Jerusalem was taken, and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

And Hanameel, my uncle’s son, came to me in the court of the guard, according to the Word of Jehovah, and said to me, Please buy my field which is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of possession is yours, and the right of redemption is yours. Buy it for yourself. And I knew that this was the Word of Jehovah.

And the Word of Jehovah was to Jeremiah the second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

And they drew up Jeremiah with ropes and brought him up out of the pit. And Jeremiah dwelt in the court of the prison.

And Jeremiah dwelt in the court of the prison until the day Jerusalem was taken And he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. But no water was in the pit, only mud. And Jeremiah sank into the mud.

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have thrown into the pit. And he may die in his place because of the famine, for there is no more bread in the city.

And in the fourth month, in the ninth of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no food for the people of the land.

Our skin is burned black like an oven, because of the fever heat of famine.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Therefore Peter was indeed kept in the prison, but fervent prayer was made by the assembly to God on his behalf.

But two years being completed, Felix received a successor, Porcius Festus. And wishing to lay up favors to the Jews, Felix left Paul being bound.

And when we went into Rome, the centurion gave over the prisoners to the camp commander. But Paul was allowed to remain by himself, with the soldier guarding him.

And Paul remained two whole years in his own rented place, and he welcomed all the ones coming in to him,

Then I, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to walk worthily of the calling in which you were called,

for which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may speak boldly as it is right for me to speak.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner. But suffer hardship with the gospel, according to the power of God,

in which I suffer hardship as an evildoer, unto bonds; but the Word of God has not been bound.
