Jeremiah 29:25

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because you have sent letters in your name to all the people in Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

And Hezekiah took the letters out of the hand of the messengers, and read them, and went up to the house of Jehovah. And Hezekiah spread it before the face of Jehovah.

And when he heard it said of Tirhakah the king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is coming out to fight against you, he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying,

And he had written letters to blaspheme Jehovah, the God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah shall not deliver His people from my hand.

And in those days the nobles of Judah were increasing their letters going to Tobiah, and those of Tobiah came to them.

Also his good deeds were being spoken before me, and my words were going out to him, letters Tobiah sent to make me afraid.

And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal, the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Intercede now for us to Jehovah our God.

And the chief of the executioners took Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.

he asked from him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any being of the Way, both men and women, they having been bound, he might bring them to Jerusalem.
