Jeremiah 26:9

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Why have you prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolated, without one living in it? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.

And it happened, as he spoke with him, that he said to him, Have we given you as a counselor to the king? Stop yourself! Why should they strike you? And the prophet stopped, and said, I know that God has counseled to destroy you because you have done this, and have not listened to my counsel.

And I will give Jerusalem to be a heap of ruins, a den of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, not [one] living in it.

because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, pouring out the blood of the righteous ones in her midst,

They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they detest him who speaks uprightly.

Do not drop words as they drop! They shall not drop words about these; they shall not draw back reproaches.

And He having come into the temple, the chief priests and elders of the people came near to Him as He was teaching, saying, By what authority do You do these things? And who gave this authority to You?

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds, that they should ask for Barabbas, and to destroy Jesus.

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, that rather he should release Barabbas to them.

Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, teaching in the temple; and no one seized Him, for His hour had not yet come.

But the Jews incited the devout and honorable women, and the first ones of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out from their borders.

And the whole city was stirred up and there was a running together of people. And laying hands on Paul, they drew him outside of the temple, and at once the doors were shut.

And they heard him as far as this word, and lifted up their voice, saying, Take away such a one from the earth, for it is not fitting that he should live!

And the healed lame one was holding to Peter and John, and all the people ran together to them on the porch called Solomon’s, greatly amazed.

And through the hands of the apostles many miraculous signs and wonders among the people took place. And they were all with one mind in Solomon’s Porch.

saying, Did we not command you by a command that you not teach on this name? And, behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring on us the blood of this man.

for we have heard him saying that this One, Jesus the Nazarene, will destroy this place and will change the customs which Moses gave over to us.

And all the company of the sons of Israel were gathered at Shiloh. And they established the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land had been subdued before them.
