Jeremiah 23:15

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

So Jehovah of Hosts says this concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them wormwood, and make them drink poisonous water, for ungodliness has gone forth from the prophets of Jerusalem into all the land.

They also gave Me gall in My food; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.

So Jehovah says this over the prophets who prophesy in My name, and I did not send them; yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.

Why do we sit still? Gather yourselves, and let us enter into the fortified cities, and let us be silent there. For Jehovah our God has made us silent there, and He has made us drink water of poison because we have sinned against Jehovah.

but they have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them;

Therefore thus says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will make this people eat wormwood, and make them drink waters of poison.

He has filled me with bitterness and made me drunk with wormwood.

And it shall be in that day, a statement of Jehovah of Hosts, I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall not be remembered again. And I also will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

they gave Him vinegar mingled with gall to drink. And having tasted, He would not drink.

that there not be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away today from Jehovah our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you today a root that bears gall and wormwood;

And the name of the star is said to be Wormwood. And the third part of the waters became changed into wormwood. And many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
