Weep not for the ones who died and do not lament for him; weep bitterly for him who goes away, for he shall return no more, nor see the land of his birth.

Therefore behold! I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring on this place. And they brought back this word to the king.

In his days Pharaoh-necho the king of Egypt came up against the king of Assyria by the river Euphrates; and King Josiah went out to meet him, and he caused him to die in Megiddo, when he saw him.

And the king of Egypt made his brother Eliakim king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned about his name to Jehoiakim; and Necho took his brother Jehoahaz and brought him to Egypt.

And I commended the ones who died, those who already have died, more than the living. that they are still alive.

The righteous one perishes, and no man lays it on his heart; yea, merciful men are gathered, with no one discerning that the righteous one is gathered from the face of evil.

And not shall they break for them in mourning, to comfort him for ones who died. And not shall they give them the cup of consolation to drink for one’s father or one’s mother.

For so says Jehovah concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned in his father Josiah’s place, who went forth from this place: he shall not return there any more.

So Jehovah says this concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, They shall not mourn for him, saying, Ah, my brother! Or, Ah, sister! They shall not mourn for him, saying, Ah, lord! Or, Ah, his glory!

But concerning the land which they lift up with their soul, to return there, they shall not return there.

So you shall say to them, So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, and be drunk, and vomit, and fall, and do not rise up, because of the sword which I will send among you.

And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the exiles of Judah who went into Babylon, says Jehovah. For I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

For so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, As My anger and My fury has poured out upon the people of Jerusalem, so shall My fury pour out on you when you enter Egypt. And you shall be a curse, and a horror, and a shame, and a reproach, and you shall not see this place again.

so that none of the remnant of Judah which has gone into the land of Egypt, to sojourn there, will be a fugitive, or a survivor, and turn back to the land of Judah to which they are lifting up their soul to turn back to live there, for none shall return, except the ones who escape.

Better are the wounded ones by the sword than the ones slain by famine, those who flow away, pierced because the produce of my fields failed.

Son of man, behold, I am taking from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke. Yet you shall not wail nor weep, and your tears shall not come.

And turning to them, Jesus said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over Me, but weep over yourselves and over your children.
