But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your evil; for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.

And Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother. And the king of Israel said to him, No, for Jehovah has called these three kings in order to give them into the hand of Moab.

Gather yourselves and come; draw near together, fugitives of the nations; the ones who set up the wood of their carved image, and the ones who pray to a god who does not save; they know nothing.

They stoop; they bow together; they are not able to deliver the burden; and their soul has gone into captivity.

They lift up it on the shoulder; they lift it up and set it in its place, and it stands; it shall not move from its place. Yea, he cries to it, but it does not answer, it does not save him from his distress.

When you cry, let your gatherings deliver you; but the wind shall lift up all of them; vanity takes them. But he who takes refuge in Me shall inherit the land and possess My holy mountain.

And I will speak My judgments against them on all their evil, those who have forsaken Me and have burned incense to other gods, and have worshiped the works of their hands.

And the cities of Judah and those living in Jerusalem shall go and cry to the gods to whom they burned incense, to them. But they are not at all able to save them in the time of their evil.

For according to the number of your cities were your gods, O Judah; yea, according to the number of the outside places of Jerusalem you have set up altars to the thing of shame, altars to burn incense to Baal.

Alas! For that day is great, for none is like it. And a time of trouble it is for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it.

Where now are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, or against this land?

Israel is a luxuriant vine; he bears fruit for himself. According to the plenty of his fruit he has increased the altars; as the goodness of the land they have made goodly pillars.

What does an image profit, for its former has carved it; a molten image, and a teacher of falsehood? For does the former trust in his work on it, to make mute idols?

Woe to the one who says to the wood, Awake! To a stone in silence, Rise up, it shall teach! Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, but no breath is in its midst.

And He will say, Where are their gods, the rock in which they sought refuge?

Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.
