For long ago you broke your yoke and tore up your bonds. And you said, I will not pass by, when on every high hill and under every green tree you lay down like one doing adultery.

And Jeroboam made a feast in the eighth month, in the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah; and he offered on the altar, so he did in Bethel, to sacrifice to the calves which he made; and he made stand in Bethel the priests of the high places that he made.

And they built, they also, high places for themselves, and standing pillars, and Asherahs on every high hill, and under every luxuriant tree.

He brought them out from darkness and the shadow of death; and He tore off their bonds.

We will break their bands in two, and throw off their cords from us.

For they enraged Him with their high places; and they provoked Him to jealousy with their molten images.

And all the people answered together and said, All which Jehovah has spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people to Jehovah.

And Moses came and told all the words of Jehovah to the people, and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, We will do all the words which Jehovah has spoken.

And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and broad land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Jebusite.

Oh how the faithful city has become one doing adultery! She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers!

And it shall be in that day, his burden shall turn away from on your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck; and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

to break Assyria in My land, and trample him on My mountains, and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall depart from his shoulders.

For You have broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of him pressing, as in the day of Midian.

I have seen your adulteries and your neighings, the plot of your adultery, your abominable idols on the hills, in the fields. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! Will you not be made clean? Until when will it be again?

even while their sons remember their altars and their Asherahs by the green tree on the high hills.

O generation, see the Word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam; we will come no more to You.

Only know your iniquity, that you have transgressed against Jehovah your God and have scattered your ways to strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice, a statement of Jehovah.

For it shall be in that day, a statement of Jehovah of Hosts, I will break his yoke from your neck, and I will burst your bonds. And strangers will not again make him serve;

I will go up for myself to the great men and will speak to them. For they have known the way of Jehovah, the judgment of their God. Surely, together they have broken the yoke; they have torn off the bonds.

You have fornicated with the sons of Assyria without being satisfied. Yea, you fornicated and yet you were not satisfied.

in that you have built your mound in the head of every highway, and you have made your high place in every open place; yet you have not been as one prostituting, even scorning hire.

And they shall burn your houses with fire and make judgments against you in the sight of many women. And I will make you stop fornicating; and, also, you shall not give hire again.

When I had brought them into the land for which I lifted up My hand, to give it to them, even they saw every high hill and every leafy tree; and they offered their sacrifices there. And they have their provoking offering there. They also made their soothing aroma there and poured out their drink offerings there.

And Oholah fornicated under Me. And she lusted on ones loving her, to Assyria nearby,

The beginning of the speaking of Jehovah by Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of adultery, and children of adultery. For fornicating the land goes fornicating away from Jehovah.

For their mother has prostituted herself; she who conceived them has acted shamefully. For she said, I will go after my lovers who give my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.

And I said to her, You shall live with me many days. You shall not be an adulteress, and not be to a man, and I also will be for you.

They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains and burn incense on the hills, under oak and poplar and terebinth trees, because its shade is good. On account of this, your daughters shall be prostitutes, and your brides shall commit adultery.

O Israel, do not rejoice for joy, like the peoples. For you have fornicated away from your God. You have loved hire on all threshing-floors of grain.

I am Jehovah your God, who has brought you out from the land of the Egyptians, from being their slaves; and I will break the bars of your yoke, and cause you to stand erect.

And now I will break his yoke from on you and will tear away your bonds.

Destroying you shall destroy all the places where the nations which you are dispossessing served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every leafy tree.

And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God redeemed you. On account of this I am commanding you this thing today.

You have today declared Jehovah to be your God, and to walk in His ways, and to keep His statutes and His commands, and His judgments, and to take heed to His voice.

And Jehovah has taken you, and has brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people to Him, an inheritance, as it is this day.

Or has God gone forth to take to Himself a nation from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

You go near and hear all that Jehovah our God may say, and you shall speak to us all that Jehovah our God may speak to you. And we will hear it and do it.

And they answered Joshua, saying, We will do all that you command us; and we will go everywhere you shall send us.

And the people said to Joshua, We will serve Jehovah our God, and we will listen to His voice.

And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the Law of God, and took a great stone and raised it up there under the oak by the sanctuary of Jehovah.

And one of the seven angels having the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying to me, Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot, the one sitting on the many waters,

And the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of Jehovah again, and served the Baals, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Sidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. And they forsook Jehovah and did not serve Him.

And the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served the Baals.

Yea, they forsook Jehovah, and served Baal and the Ashtoroth.

And they cried to Jehovah and said, We have sinned, for we forsook Jehovah and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies and we will serve You.
