Let a cry be heard from their houses when You suddenly bring a raiding band on them. For they have dug a pit to capture me, and have hidden snares for my feet.

The proud have dug pits for me which are not according to Your Law.

The proud ones have hidden a trap and cords for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.

I said to Jehovah, You are my God; O Jehovah, give ear to the voice of my prayers.

I look to the right hand and see, and no one recognizes me; every escape is hidden from me; no one inquires for my soul.

And those seeking my life lay a snare; yea, those seeking my evil speak destruction, and they utter deceits all the day.

Shriek with your voice, daughter of ruins; bow, Laish, afflicted of Anathoth.

Should evil be repaid for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember, I stood before You to speak good concerning them, to turn Your wrath from them.

For I heard the slanders of many, Terror is all around! Expose! Yea, let us expose him! Every man of my peace watched for my fall, saying, Perhaps he will be lured away, and we shall prevail against him; and we shall take revenge on him.

And let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew and did not repent. And let him hear a cry in the morning and the shouting at noontime;

For I have heard a voice as of one weakened, the anguish as one bearing her first child, the voice of Zion’s daughter gasping and spreading her palms, saying, Woe is to me now, for my soul faints because of murderers!

For among My people are found wicked ones. They lie in wait, as the crouching of fowlers they set traps, they catch men.

O daughter of My people, put on sackcloth and roll in ashes. Make mourning for yourself, as for an only son, most bitter mourning; for the one devastating shall suddenly come on us.

a day of the rams` horn and alarm against the fortified cities, and against the high towers.

Then going, the Pharisees took counsel so as they might trap Him in discourse.
