Jeremiah 18:21

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Therefore, give their sons to the famine, and make them run onto the hand of the sword. And let their wives be bereaved, and be widows, and let their men be the slain of death, their young men be those struck by the sword in battle.

And He caused the king of the Chaldeans to go up against them; and he killed their young men by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no pity on the young man and the virgin, the old man and the very aged; He gave all into his hand.

They shall pour him out by the sword; they shall be a portion for foxes.

But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by Him shall glory, because the mouth of the one speaking a lie will be stopped.

and My anger shall glow, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall become widows, and your sons orphans.

And bows shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare sons.

For those leading this people led them astray, and the ones advancing it are swallowed up.

On account of this the Lord shall not rejoice over their young men, and not have pity on their orphans and widows; for everyone is godless and an evildoer; and every mouth speaks foolishness. In all this His anger does not turn back, but His hand is still stretched out.

But You know me, O Jehovah. You have seen me and tried my heart toward You. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and consecrate them to the day of slaughter.

And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword. And none will bury them, either them, their wives, or their sons, or their daughters. For I will pour evil on them.

And I will sift them with a fork in the gates of the land; I will bereave; I will make My people perish, for they do not turn back from their ways.

Their widows are more numerous about Me than the sand of the seas. I have brought for them one devastating at noonday against the mother of a young man; I caused anguish and terror to fall on her suddenly.

So her young men shall fall in the broad places, and all her men of war shall be silenced in that day, a statement of Jehovah.

For death has come into our windows, entering into our fortresses, to cut off the children from the outside, the young men from the broad spaces.

The Lord has trampled all my mighty ones in my midst. He called a gathering against me to crush my young men. As a winepress, the Lord trod the virgin daughter of Judah.

We are orphans. There is no father; our mothers are like widows.

And I will judge you with judgments of adulteresses, and with those who spill blood. And I will give you blood of fury and jealousy.

A plot by her prophets is in her midst, like a roaring lion tearing prey. They have devoured souls and they have taken the riches and gems. They multiplied her widows in her midst.

I have sent a plague among you in the way of Egypt; I have killed your young men with the sword and your horses with captivity. And I have made the stench of your camps to come up even into your nostrils; yet you have not returned to Me, a statement of Jehovah.

The sword shall bereave from without, and terror from within, both the young man and the virgin, the suckling with the man of gray hairs.

Alexander the coppersmith showed many evil things to me. The Lord “will give back to him according to his works.” LXX-Psa. 61:13; MT-Psa. 62:12 ; Prov. 24:12

And Samuel said, As your sword has bereaved women of their children, so shall your mother be bereft among women. And Samuel cut Agag in pieces before Jehovah in Gilgal.
