Then I said, Ah, O Lord Jehovah! Behold, the prophets are saying to them, You shall not see the sword, and famine shall not be to you, but I will give you true peace in this place.
And you, Pashur, and all who live in your house, shall go into captivity. And you shall enter Babylon; and you shall die there. And you shall be buried there, you and all loving you, to whom you have prophesied lies to them.
Saying they say to those who spurn Me, Jehovah has said, You shall have peace. And they say to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, Evil things shall not come on you.
Then I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! Surely deceiving You have deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, You shall have peace, but the sword reaches to the soul.
Because you have saddened the heart of the righteous one with lies, and I have not pained him, and you have made the hands of the wicked one strong, so that he should not turn from his evil way, to keep him alive.
Her heads judge for a bribe, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets divine for silver; yet they will lean on Jehovah, saying, Is not Jehovah in our midst? Evil shall not come on us!
But there also came to be false prophets among the people, as also among you will be false teachers who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the One having bought them, the Master, bringing swift destruction on themselves.
