Therefore, so says Jehovah concerning the men of Anathoth who seek your life, saying, Do not prophesy in the name of Jehovah, that you do not die by our hand.

The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests who resided in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,

And they shall fight against you; but they shall not overcome you. For I am with you to deliver you, a statement of Jehovah.

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their life. And their corpses shall be for food to the birds of the heavens, and to the beasts of the earth.

And you gave the Nazarites wine to drink, and you commanded the prophets, saying, Do not prophesy.

for a son is despising his father; a daughter rises up against her mother; the bride against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his house.

But brother will give over brother to death, and the father his child. And children will rise up against parents and will put them to death.

And the vinedressers, taking his slaves, one indeed, they beat, and one they killed, and one they stoned.

And the rest, seizing his slaves, they insolently mistreated and killed them.

But He said, Truly I say to you that no prophet is acceptable in his fatherland.
