Behold, I have today appointed you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to tear down, and to destroy, and to cast down, to build, and to plant.
And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.
And it shall be, he who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu shall cause to die; and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha shall cause to die.
For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. And I will build them and not tear them down; and I will plant them, and will not pluck them up.
And I will bring on that land all My words which I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
And it shall be, as I have watched over them to pluck up, and to break down, and to destroy, and to bring calamity; so I will watch over them to build and to plant, a statement of Jehovah.
And the whole valley of the corpses and the ashes and all the fields to the torrent Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate east, shall be holy to Jehovah. It shall not be torn up, and not torn down any more, forever.
Take to yourself a roll of a book and write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.
Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword, and by the famine, until they are consumed.
So you shall say to him, Jehovah says this: Behold, I am tearing down what I have built; and I am pulling up that which I have planted, even all the land itself to Me.
And you, son of man, set for yourself two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come. Both of them shall come out from one land. And create a hand at the head of the way to the city; create it.
Son of man, wail over the host of Egypt, and bring it down, her and the daughters of the majestic nations, to the earth’s lowest parts, with those going down to the Pit.
And the nations left all around you shall know that I, Jehovah, built the torn down places and planted that which was desolated. I, Jehovah, have spoken it and will do it.
And the appearance of the vision which I saw was as the appearance which I saw when I came to destroy the city, and as the appearance that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.
On account of this I have cut them down by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth; and your judgments have been as the light that goes forth.
In that day I will raise up the booth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old;
But My words and My statutes which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they turned back and said, As Jehovah of Hosts planned to do to us, according to our ways and according to our doings, so He has done with us.
