You ask, and do not receive, because you ask badly, in order that you may spend on your pleasures.

And God said to him, Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself many days, and not asked riches for yourself, and not asked the life of your enemies, and have asked for discernment for yourself, to understand judgment,

There they cry, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evildoers.

One shutting his ears at the cry of the poor one, he himself shall also call and shall not be answered.

The sacrifice of the wicked ones is a disgusting thing; how much more when he brings it with an evil intent!

Therefore Jehovah says this: Behold, I will bring evil on them from which they shall not be able to go forth from it. And though they cry to Me, I will not hear them.

And you, do not pray for this people; and do not lift up a cry or prayer for them. For I will not hear in the time they cry to Me for their evil.

I will not hear their cry when they fast; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering I will not be pleased with them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by famine, and by the plague.

Then they shall cry out to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them in that time, as they have done evil in their doings.

And it will be, just as He called, and they did not listen; so they called, and I did not listen, says Jehovah of Hosts.

But answering, Jesus said, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink, and to be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized? They said to Him, We are able.

But Jesus said to them, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup which I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?

For everyone asking receives, and the one seeking finds, and to the one knocking, it will be opened.

And not many days after, gathering up all things, the younger son went abroad to a distant country. And there he squandered his property, living dissolutely.

But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.

From where do wars and fightings among you come? Is it not from this, from your lusts, the ones warring in your members?

And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and we do the things pleasing before Him.

And this is the confidence we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
