And he said to him, I also am a prophet like yourself, and an angel spoke to me by the Word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with you into your house, and he shall eat bread and water (he lied to him).
Because you have said, We have cut a covenant with death; and, We have made a vision with Sheol, when the overwhelming scourge passes through it will not come to us, for we have made the lie our refuge, and we have hidden in falsehood.
And I will lay judgment for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of the lie; and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
But also these also have erred by wine, and have strayed through fermented liquor; priest and prophet have erred through fermented liquor; they are swallowed from wine; they stagger from fermented liquor; they err in vision; they stumble in judgment;
As for My people, children are the ones oppressing, and women rule over him. Oh My people, those leading you cause you to go astray, and they swallow the way of your paths.
And the people shall be oppressed man against man, and a man against his neighbor. The boy will act insolently against the old one, and the one being despised against the one being honored.
No one calls for righteousness, and no one judges with truth. Trusting in emptiness, and speaking vanity, they conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.
Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, and speak them, and cause My people to go astray by their lies, and by their frivolity, and I did not send them, and I did not command them, a statement of Jehovah.
My heart within me is broken concerning the prophets; all my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man passed out by wine, because of Jehovah, and because of the words of His holiness.
Your prophets have visioned vanity and foolishness for you; and they have not revealed your iniquity in order to turn back your captivity. Yea, they visioned for you burdens of vanity and seductions.
And will you profane Me among My people for handfuls of barley, and for bits of bread, to cause to die the souls that should not die, and to save alive the souls that should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies?
Because you have saddened the heart of the righteous one with lies, and I have not pained him, and you have made the hands of the wicked one strong, so that he should not turn from his evil way, to keep him alive.
So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn back from it; for they rejected the Law of Jehovah, and they have not kept His statutes. And their lies after which their fathers walked led them astray.
So says Jehovah concerning the prophets, those causing My people to err, those biting with their teeth and they call out, Peace! And whoever does not give for their mouth, they even sanctify a war against him.
And the beast was seized, and with this one the false prophet, the one doing signs before it, by which he led astray the ones receiving the mark of the beast, and the ones worshiping its image. The two were thrown living into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone.
And he said to him, Behold now, a man of God is in this city, and the man is held in honor. All that he speaks certainly comes to pass. Now let us go there. It may be he will declare our way to us on which we should go.
