And three friends of Job heard of all this evil that had come on him. And they came, each man from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite; Bildad the Shuhite; and Zophar the Naamathite. And they had met together to come to lament with him, and to comfort him.

And all his brothers and all his sisters came to him; and all knowing him before. And they ate bread with him in his house and consoled him and comforted him as to all the evil that Jehovah had brought on him. And they each man gave him one piece of money, and each man a ring of gold.

Reproach has broken My heart, and I am sick; and I waited for one to show pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

So I returned and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold the tears of those who were oppressed, and there is not for them one who comforts! And at the hand of those oppressing them was power; but there was not one who comforts them.

And the first-born of the poor ones shall feed; and the needy ones shall lie down in safety; and I will cause your root to die with famine; and it shall kill your remnant.

On account of this I said, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly; do not hurry to comfort me over the ruin of the daughter of my people.

But these two things shall suddenly come to you in one day: loss of children, and widowhood; according to completeness they come on you, for your many sorceries, for the multitude of your great spells.

Afflicted one, storm tossed and not comforted! Behold, I am laying out your stones with antimony, and have founded you with sapphires.

Violence shall not still be heard in your land, or wasting and ruin within your bor- ders; but you shall call your walls, Salvation, and your gates, Praise.

to call out the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all those mourning;

And they shall pass through it, hard pressed and hungry. And it shall be, they shall be hungry; he will be angry and curse his king and his God, and face upward.

And he cuts off on the right hand, yet is hungry. And he eats on the left, but they shall not be satisfied; each man shall eat the flesh of his own arm;

For who shall have pity on you, O Jerusalem? Or who shall grieve over you? Or who shall turn aside to ask your welfare?

And I will send the sword, the famine, and the plague among them until they are consumed from being upon the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.

Is it nothing to you, all who pass by? Behold, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow which is done to me, with which Jehovah has afflicted me in the day of His burning anger.

Her uncleanness is in her skirts. She did not remember her end and has gone down wonderfully. She had no comforter. O Jehovah, see my affliction, for the enemy has magnified himself.

Dread and a pit is ours, devastation and ruin.

If I make evil beasts pass through the land, and they bereave it, and it is desolate, so that no one would pass through because of the beasts,

For so says the Lord Jehovah, How much more when the four of My evil judgments: sword, and famine, and evil beast, and plague I send on Jerusalem, to cut off from it man and beast!

And it happened when it had made an end of eating the green plant of the land, even I said, Lord Jehovah, I pray, forgive. How can Jacob rise up? For he is small.

And it shall be that all those who look on you shall flee from you and shall say, Nineveh is laid waste; who shall grieve for her? From where shall I seek comforters for you?

Because of this we have been comforted over your comfort, and we rather rejoice more abundantly over the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.
