Woe to the mighty ones to drink wine, and men of strength to mix fermented drink;

And they went out at noon, and Benhadad was drinking himself drunk in the booths, he and the kings, the thirty-two kings helping him.

And you shall not take a bribe, for the bribe blinds the seeing ones, and it perverts the words of the righteous ones.

Wine is a mocker, strong liquor is stirring, and each one straying by it is not being wise.

To whom is woe, to whom is sorrow? To whom are there contentions, to whom is babbling? To whom are wounds without cause? To whom are brilliant eyes?

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for rulers to lust for fermented drink,

lest they drink and forget what is decreed, and pervert the right of all sons of affliction.

But behold, joy and gladness, slaying oxen and slaughtering sheep; eating flesh and drinking wine, saying, Eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!

They shall not drink wine with the song; fermented liquor shall be bitter to those who drink it.

But also these also have erred by wine, and have strayed through fermented liquor; priest and prophet have erred through fermented liquor; they are swallowed from wine; they stagger from fermented liquor; they err in vision; they stumble in judgment;

Woe to those who rise early in the morninog pursue fermented drink, tarrying in the twilight while wine inflames them!

Come, and let me take wine, and let us gulp down fermented liquor; and tomorrow shall be as this day, great, exceedingly abundant.

Woe to him who causes his friend to drink, joining with your bottle, and also making him drunk, so as to look upon their nakedness!
