They shall not hunger and not thirst; and the heat and sun shall not strike them. For He who has mercy on them shall lead them; and He shall guide them by the springs of water.
For Jehovah will have pity on Jacob, and will yet choose among Israel, and set them in their own land. And the alien shall be joined to them; and they shall join themselves to the house of Jacob.
For You are a stronghold to the poor one, a stronghold to the needy one in his distress, a refuge from storm, a shadow from heat; because the breath of the terrifying one is like a storm against a wall.
And a Man shall be a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, as streams of water in a dry place; like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
Then lame ones shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute ones shall sing. For waters shall break out in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.
And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land shall become springs of waters, in the home of jackals, in its resting place, and a place for the reed and rush.
Afflicted ones and the needy ones seek water, and there is not any; their tongue is parched for thirst. I, Jehovah will answer them, the God of Israel; I will not leave them.
For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you; nor shall the covenant of My peace be removed, says Jehovah who has pity on you.
And Jehovah shall always guide you, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of waters which do not prove to be deceiving.
So the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry. Behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty. Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed.
They shall come with weeping, and I will lead them with supplications. I will cause them to walk by torrents of waters, in a right way; they will not stumble in it. For I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My first-born.
And it happened when the sun shone, God had appointed a scorching east wind; and the sun struck Jonah’s head, so that he fainted; and he asked for his life to death. And he said, Better is my death than my life.
