Isaiah 40:7

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of Jehovah blows on it. Surely the people is grass.

He comes forth like a flower and withers; he also flees like a shadow and does not stand.

They perish from the breath of God, and by the wind of His anger they are finished

His breath kindles coals and the flame goes out from his mouth.

My heart is stricken and dried like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread.

As for man, his days are as grass; as the flower of the field, so he flourishes.

For the wind passes over it, and it is not; and its place never recognizes it again.

You flooded them away; they are as a sleep; in the morning, they are like grass sprouting;

in the morning it sprouts and shoots up; in the evening it is cut off and dries up.

But He shall judge the poor ones in righteousness, and shall decide with uprightness for the humble ones of the earth. And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and He shall cause the wicked one to die with the breath of His lip.

And those living in them were short of hand, dismayed and ashamed. They were as the field grass and the green herbs; like the grass of the housetops, even blasted before it has risen.

Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they are not sown; yea, their stem is not taking root in the earth. And He also blows on them, and they shall wither, and the tempest shall lift them up like stubble.

I, even I am He comforting you. Who are you, that you should fear from man? He shall die! And from the son of man? He is given as grass.

You looked for much, and, behold, little! And when you brought it home, then I blew on it. Why, a statement of Jehovah of Hosts? Because of My house that is ruined, and you, each man, run to his own house.

and the rich one sorrow in his humiliation, because he will pass away like the flower of the grass.

For the sun rose with the burning heat and dried up the grass, and its flower fell out, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also the rich one will fade away in his journeys. Isa. 40:6, 7
