And he sent Eliakim, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.
And they called to the king, and Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder went out to them.

And they rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah and those living in Jerusalem. Trust in Jehovah your God, and trusting you will trust in His prophets and prosper.
And Mordecai understood all that was done, and Mordecai tore his clothes and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the middle of the city, and cried with a loud and bitter cry.
at that time Jehovah spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loosen the sackcloth from your loins, and take your shoe off from your foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the couriers, and read it. And Hezekiah went up to the house of Jehovah and spread it before Jehovah.
And Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, So says Jehovah, God of Israel, Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib the king of Assyria,
In those days Hezekiah was sick, dying. And Isaiah the son of Amoz, the prophet, came to him and said to him, So says Jehovah, Command your house, for you are dying and shall not live.
Gird up and lament, priests. Howl, ministers of the altar. Come, pass the night in sackcloth, ministers of my God. For the food offering and the drink offering are held back from the house of your God.
