And Mesha the king of Moab was a sheepmaster. And he paid a hundred thousand lambs to the king of Israel and a hundred thousand rams with wool.

As the wandering bird, as the swallow in its flying, so the causeless curse shall not come.

A man wandering from his place is like a bird that wanders from the nest.

And it shall be as a gazelle driven away, and as a sheep no one gathers; each man shall look to his own people, and each man shall flee to his land.

Moab is put to shame, for it is shattered. Wail and cry! Declare it in Arnon that Moab is ruined.

Woe to you, Moab! The people of Chemosh have perished. For your sons are taken away into exile, and your daughters into exile.

Give wings to Moab, for it will fly, going forth; and its cities shall be a waste without one living in them.

From Aroer, which is by the edge of the Arnon River, and the city beside the river, even to Gilead, there was not a city which was too high for us. Jehovah our God delivered all before us.

And we possessed this land at that time: from Aroer by the valley of Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead and its cities I gave to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

And we took the land that was beyond the Jordan from the valley of Arnon to Mount Hermon, out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites.

And he went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came in at the rising of the sun to the land of Moab. And they camped beyond Arnon, and did not come into the border of Moab, for Arnon was the border of Moab.
