Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger! Yea, My fury is the staff in their hand.

From that land he went forth to Assyria and built Nineveh, and Rehoboth the city, and Calah,

Now, have I come up against this place to destroy it without Jehovah? Jehovah said to me, Go up against this land, and you shall destroy it.

Have you not heard from afar, I made it? From days of old I formed it. Now I have caused it to come, that you should make fortified cities desolate ruin heaps.

For the rod of wickedness shall not rest on the lot of the righteous ones; that the righteous ones not put forth their hands to injustice.

from men, by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and their belly You fill with Your hidden things; they are satisfied with sons, and will leave their riches to their babes.

Shall the axe glorify itself over him chopping with it? Or shall the saw magnify itself over him moving it? As if a rod could wave those who lift it. As if a staff could raise what is not wood!

But yet a little while and the fury is finished; and My anger shall be over their destruction.

They come from a distant land, from the end of the heavens, Jehovah and the weapons of His wrath, to destroy all the land.

Jehovah of Hosts has sworn, saying, If not as I have thought, so it shall be; and as I have purposed, it shall rise up;

to break Assyria in My land, and trample him on My mountains, and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall depart from his shoulders.

Behold, the land of the Chaldeans! This people did not exist! Assyria founded it for desert-creaturess. They set up their siege towers; they lay bare its palaces; they set it up to be a ruin.

Come, My people, go in your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide for a little moment, until the fury passes.

And I will compress Ariel, and there shall be mourning and sorrow; and it shall be to Me as Ariel.

Behold, the name of Jehovah comes from afar; His anger burns; and is heavy as the lifting up of flame; His lips are full of fury, and His tongue like a devouring fire.

And Jehovah shall make the majesty of His voice heard; and He causes His arm to be seen coming down with raging anger and flame of consuming fire, cloudburst and storm, and hailstones.

that this is a rebellious people, lying sons; sons who are not willing to hear the Law of Jehovah;

For the wrath of Jehovah is on all the nations, and fury on all their army; He has devoted them; He gave them to slaughter.

And you will see, and your heart will rejoice, and your bones will flourish like the grass. And the hand of Jehovah shall be known toward His servants, and He shall be indignant with His enemies.

Jehovah shall bring the king of Assyria on you, and on your people, and on your father’s house, by the king of Assyria, days which have not come since the days Ephraim turned aside from Judah.

In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired beyond the River, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet, and also it shall sweep away the beard.

For before the boy knows to cry, My father, or, My mother, the riches of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria shall be lifted up before the king of Assyria.

even behold, therefore the Lord also brings up on them the waters of the River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And he shall come up over all its waters, and go over all its banks.

And I have poured out on them My disgust. With the fire of My wrath I consumed them. I have given their way on their heads, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.

Behold the day! Behold, it has come, the crown has gone out, the rod has blossomed, and pride has budded.

And the king shall do according to his will. And he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god; he shall even speak marvelous things against the God of gods and shall prosper until the fury is finished. For that which is decreed shall be done.

Are You not from aforetime, Jehovah our God, my Holy One? We shall not die, Jehovah, for You have appointed him for judgment. And, my Rock, You have established him to correct.

And He will stretch out His hand against the north, and make perish Assyria, and will make Nineveh a desolation, dry like the desert.

And ships shall come from the coast of Cyprus, and they shall humble Assyria, and they shall humble Eber, and he also shall come to destruction forever.
