After these things and this faithfulness, Sennacherib the king of Assyria came; yea, he came into Judah and camped against the cities of defense, and commanded to break them open to himself.
So the Lord Jehovah of Hosts says this: Oh My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria. He shall strike you with the rod, and he shall lift up his staff against you in the way of Egypt.
And Jehovah shall utterly destroy the tongue of the sea of Egypt; and with the heat of His wind He shall wave His hand over the River, and shall strike it into seven torrents, and make one tread it with shoes.
And it shall be in the last days, the mountain of the house of Jehovah shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.
this is the word Jehovah has spoken about him: The virgin, the daughter of Zion, has despised you, mocking you; the daughter of Jerusalem has shaken the head behind you.
And he shall pass through Judah. He shall overflow and pass over; he shall reach to the neck; and his wings will be stretching out, filling the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.
They shall lay hold on bow and javelin; they are cruel and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea; they ride on horses, arrayed like a man for the battle against you, O daughter of Zion.
And David came to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest. And Ahimelech trembled at meeting David, and said to him, Why are you by yourself, and no man with you?
And David said to Ahimelech the priest, The king has commanded me a matter; and he said to me, Do not let a man know anything of the matter about which I am sending you, and which I directed you. And I have directed the young men to such and such a place.
And he struck Nob, the city of the priests with the mouth of the sword, from man even to woman, from child even to suckling, and ox, and ass, and sheep, with the mouth of the sword.
