Your land is a desolation; your cities burned with fire. Strangers devour your land before you; and behold, it is ruin, as overthrown by strangers.

And I said, Until when, O Lord? And He said, Until cities lie desolate without one living in them, and the houses without man, and the land is laid waste, a desolation;

Instead of your being forsaken and hated, so that no one passes through, I will set you for everlasting majesty, a joy of generations and generations.

Jehovah has sworn by His right hand, and by the might of His arm: Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies; and the sons of an alien shall not drink your new wine for which you have labored.

Your holy cities are a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness; Jerusalem is a desolation.

For wickedness burns like a fire; it shall devour the briers and thorns; and it kindles the thickets of the forest; and they shall roll upward, like the rising up of smoke.

For every boot of the one trampling is with shaking, and war-garments rolled in blood, even it shall be for burning, fuel for the fire.

The young lions roared against him; they gave their voice. And they laid waste his land; his cities are burned, without one living in it.

The lion has come up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his place to make your land a waste. Your cities will fall into ruins without one living in them.

And My fury and My anger poured out and burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. And they are for a waste and for a desolation as at this day.

O Jerusalem, be taught lest My soul be alienated from you; lest I make you a desolation, a land with not one living in it.

Then I will cause the voice of gladness to cease from the streets of Jerusalem, even the voice of joy, and the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. For the land shall become a waste.

Our inheritance has been turned to aliens, our houses to foreigners.

therefore, behold, I will give you to the sons of the east for a possession. And they shall set their camp sites among you, and put among you their dwellings. They shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.

And I will make the rivers dry and sell the land into the hand of evil ones. And I will waste the land and her fullness by the hand of aliens. I, Jehovah, have spoken.

Strangers have eaten up his strength, and he does not know. Yea, gray hairs are sprinkled on him, and he does not know.

For they sow the wind, and they reap the storm wind. A stalk is not to him; the bud shall make no flour. If it does make it, strangers will swallow it up.

And I will scatter you among nations, and shall draw out the sword after you, and your land shall become a waste, and your cities shall be a desolation.

Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths, all the days of the desolation. And you shall be in the land of your enemies; then the land shall enjoy rest, and shall enjoy its sabbaths.

And I will cut off the cities of your land and pull down all your fortresses.

And I also have made you sick, to strike you, to desolate you because of your sins.

The fruit of your ground, and all your labor, shall be eaten up by a nation which you do not know. And you shall always be oppressed and crushed.

The sojourner in your midst shall go above you, higher and higher; and you shall come down, lower and lower.

the whole land shall be burned with brimstone and salt; it shall not be sown, nor shall it sprout; nor shall any herb come up in it. It shall be like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, which Jehovah overthrew in His anger and in His fury.
