And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.
And it happened after many days the Word of Jehovah came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, make yourself seen to Ahab, and I will give rain on the face of the earth.
And now send, gather all Israel to me, to Mount Carmel and four hundred and fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of the Asherah, who eat at the table of Jezebel.
And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made horns of iron for himself. And he said, So says Jehovah, With these you shall push the Syrians until you finish them.
And Jehovah said to him, How? And he said, I will go out and shall be a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets. And He said, You shall entice him, and also you are able. Go out and do so.

and it happened, they were burying a man; and, behold, they saw the band, and threw the man into the grave of Elisha. And the man fell and touched the bones of Elisha, and came alive, and rose on his feet.
And he took Elijah’s mantle that had fallen from him, and struck the waters, and said, Where is Jehovah the God of Elijah, even He? And he struck the waters; and they were divided here and there, and Elisha crossed.
And he went out to the going forth of the waters and threw salt there, and said, So says Jehovah, I have given healing to these waters; there shall not be death and barrenness there any more.
And his servant said, What? Should I set this before a hundred men? And he said, Give to the people, and they shall eat. For so says Jehovah, Eat and have some left.
And he went down and dipped in the Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of God. And his flesh returned like the flesh of a little boy, and he was clean.
And the third officer had answered the man of God, and said, And behold, if Jehovah should make windows in the heavens, it shall be according to this word. And he said, Behold, you shall see with your eyes, but you shall not eat from there.
And the third officer on whose hand the king leaned replied to the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah would make windows in the heavens, this thing might be. And he said, Behold, you shall see with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.
For man also does not know his time. As the fish that are caught in the evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the trap, like these are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly on them.
I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem. All the day and all the night they shall not be silent always; you who remember Jehovah, let there not be a rest to you.
And I was like a docile lamb being brought to the slaughter; and I did not know that they had plotted schemes against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; and let us cut him off from the land of the living so that his name may be remembered no more.
Then I said, Ah, O Lord Jehovah! Behold, the prophets are saying to them, You shall not see the sword, and famine shall not be to you, but I will give you true peace in this place.
Your prophets have visioned vanity and foolishness for you; and they have not revealed your iniquity in order to turn back your captivity. Yea, they visioned for you burdens of vanity and seductions.
Hear this, O priests, and attend, house of Israel. And give ear, house of the king. For the judgment is toward you, because you have been a snare to Mizpeh, and a net spread on Tabor.
The days of her calling to account have come; Israel shall know the days of her retribution. The prophet is a fool, the man of spirit is mad, for great is your iniquity and your hatred much.
Their best is like a thorn; the upright one more than a hedge of thorns. The day of your watchers, your visitation is coming; now shall be their confusion.
Yield to the ones taking the lead of you, and submit, for they watch for your souls, giving an account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning; for this would be unprofitable to you.
