lest I strip her naked and set her out as in the day that she was born, and make her as the wilderness, and place her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.
And the people thirsted there for water, and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Why, then, have you caused us to go up from Egypt, to cause me and my sons and my livestock to die with thirst?
And if you say in your heart, Why do these things meet me? It is because of the greatness of your iniquity. Your skirts are bared; your heels suffer violence.
And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters. They came to the cisterns; they found no waters. They returned with their vessels empty. They were ashamed and blushed and covered their head.
For he shall be like a juniper in the desert, and shall not see when good comes. But he shall live in the dry places in the wilderness, in a salt land that is not inhabited.
O generation, see the Word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam; we will come no more to You.

And he was exceedingly thirsty, and called to Jehovah and said, Surely You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant. And now I am dying with thirst and will fall into the hand of the uncircumcised.
