And Jeroboam made a feast in the eighth month, in the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah; and he offered on the altar, so he did in Bethel, to sacrifice to the calves which he made; and he made stand in Bethel the priests of the high places that he made.

For so says Jehovah of Hosts the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease from this place for your eyes, and in your days, the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

And I will cause to perish from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

Then I will cause the voice of gladness to cease from the streets of Jerusalem, even the voice of joy, and the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. For the land shall become a waste.

And I will make cease the noise of your songs. And the sound of your harps shall not be heard any more.

For the sons of Israel shall live many days with no king and no ruler, and with no sacrifice, and no pillars, and no ephod or teraphim.

They have acted deceitfully against Jehovah, for they have borne strange sons. Now a new moon shall devour them with their portions.

and your strength shall be consumed in vain, and your land shall not give her produce, and the tree of the land shall not give its fruit.

I hate, I reject your feast days; and I will not delight in your solemn assemblies.

And they will howl the songs of the temple in that day, a statement of the Lord Jehovah. The corpses shall be many; in every place one shall throw them out, saying, Hush!

saying, When will the new moon have passed, so that we may buy grain? Or the sabbath, so that we may open the wheat, to make small the ephah, and to make greater the shekel, and to falsify the deceitful balances,

For as long as thorns are woven together, and as their drunkards are drunken, they shall be devoured like fully dried straw.
