Hebrews 2:17

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

For which reason He is obligated in all things to become like His brothers, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things respecting God, in order to propitiate for the sins of His people. For in what He has suffered, being tried, He is able to help those being tried.

and the priests slaughtered them, and made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to atone for all Israel; for the king said, The burnt offering and the sin offering are for all Israel.

And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His loins.

and one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the watered land of Israel for a food offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to atone for them, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.

And responsibility for burnt offerings shall be on the prince, and a food offering, and drink offerings, in the feasts and on the new moons and on the sabbaths, in all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. He shall make the sin offering, and the food offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to atone for the house of Israel.

And so you shall do on the seventh of the month for each man who goes astray, and for the one of simplicity. And you shall atone for the house.

Seventy weeks are decreed as to your people, and as to your holy city, to shut up the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to atone for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

and the rest of the oil on the palm of the priest, he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed. And the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah.

And he shall atone for the sanctuary because of the pollutions of the sons of Israel, and because of their transgressions for all their sins. And so he shall do for the tabernacle of the congregation dwelling in the midst of their pollutions.

And any sin offering of its blood that is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation to make atonement in the sanctuary, it shall not be eaten. It shall be burned with fire.

and one slaughtered it; and Moses took the blood and put it on the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and cleansed the altar; and he poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement on it.

And the priest shall atone for all the congregation of the sons of Israel; and it shall be forgiven them. For it was in error, and they have brought their offering, a fire offering to Jehovah, and their sin offering before Jehovah for their error.

Therefore I have glorying in Christ Jesus as to the things with regard to God.

For if while being hostile ones we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life;

and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, slaying the enmity in Himself.

And you then being alienated and a hostile one in your mind by evil works, but now He reconciled

and having a Great Priest over the house of God,

For both the One sanctifying and the ones being sanctified are all of One; for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,

Therefore since the children have partaken of flesh and blood, in like manner He Himself also shared the same things, that through death He might do away with the one having the power of death, this is, the devil;

For indeed He does not take hold of angels, “but He takes hold of” “the Seed of Abraham”. Isa. 41:8, 9

For which reason, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, fully consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

“being faithful” to Him having made Him, as also “Moses” was “in all his house”. Num. 12:7

And “Moses” truly “was faithful in all his house” as a servant for a testimony of all the things being spoken; Num. 12:7

Therefore having a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession.

For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our infirmities, but One having been tried according in all things according to our likeness, apart from sin.

For every high priest being taken from men is appointed on behalf of men in the things as regards to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;

having been called out by God to being a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

being able to feel gently for the ones not knowing and being led astray, since he also is circled about with weakness.

So also the Christ has not glorified Himself to become a high priest, but He speaking to Him, “You are My Son; today I have begotten You.” Psa. 2:7

where Jesus entered as forerunner for us, having become a High Priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.

For such a High Priest was fitting for us: holy, guileless, undefiled, and having been separated from sinners, and having become higher than the heavens;

For the Law makes men high priests who have infirmity, but the word of the oath-taking after the Law appoints the Son having been perfected unto the age.

Now the main point over the things being said: We have such a High Priest, who sat down on the right of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven, Psa. 110:1

For every high priest is set in place to offer both gifts and sacrifices; from which it is necessary for this One also to have something which He may offer.

But Christ having appeared as a High Priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not of this creation,
