And set two men, sons of worthlessness, across from him; and they shall testify of him, saying, You have cursed God and the king. And they shall bring him out and stone him; and he shall die.

And they said to him, A lord of hair, and a girdle of leather was girded about his loins. And he said, He is Elijah the Tishbite.

And he lifted up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and turned back and stood on the lip of the Jordan.

And Elijah took his mantle, and rolled it up, and struck the waters. And they were divided here and there, so that they both went over on dry ground.

And he brought out the people in it; and they sawed with saws, and with sharp tools of iron, and with the axes. And so David did to all the cities of the Ammonites. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones by the command of the king, in the court of the house of Jehovah.

In vain I have stricken your sons; they took no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

And they brought Urijah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who struck him with the sword, and threw his dead body into the graves of the sons of the people.
