On account of this he sacrifices to his net, and burns incense to his fishnet; because by them his portion grows fat, and his food rich.

All the fat ones of the earth have eaten, and have worshiped; all those going down to the dust shall bow before Him; and he kept not his own soul alive.

By the hand of your servants you have reproached the Lord, and said, By my many chariots I have come up to the tops of mountains, the sides of Lebanon, and I cut down its tall cedars, its choice firs; and I will go to heights of its end, the forest of its Carmel.

But doing we will do whatever thing goes out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings, and our rulers, in the cities of Judah and in the outside places of Jerusalem. to provoke Me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, there where you have gone to sojourn, that I might cut you off, and that you might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

Behold, you are wiser than Daniel. Every one of the secret things are not hidden to you.

Speak and say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers, who has said, My river is mine, and I have made it.

The king answered and said, Is this not great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

But you have exalted yourself against the Lord of Heaven. And they have brought the vessels of His house before you. And you, and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine with them. And you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, and do not know. And you have not glorified the God in whose hand is your life-breath and all your ways.

Then he sweeps on like a wind; and he passes on and is guilty, crediting this power of his to his god.

and you not say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.
