I will be surety for him; you may require him from my hand. If I do not bring him to you and set him before you, I shall be a sinner against you all the days.
And surely the blood of your lives I will demand. At the hand of every animal I will demand it, and at the hand of man. I will demand the soul of man at the hand of every man’s brother.
And the woman of Tekoah said to the king, My lord, O king, let the iniquity be on me, and on my father’s house; and the king and his throne shall be guiltless.
In My saying to the wicked one, Dying you shall die; and you do not warn him, and you do not speak to warn the wicked one from his wicked way, to save his life, he, the wicked one, shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand.
And when the righteous one turns from his righteousness and does injustice, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die. Since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered, but I will require his blood at your hand.
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the rams’ horn, and the people did not take warning, and the sword comes and takes a soul from them, he is taken in his iniquity. And I will require his blood from the watchman’s hand.
When I say to the wicked one, O wicked one, dying you shall die! And you do not speak to warn the wicked one from his way, that wicked one shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood from your hand.
