Genesis 42:38

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he alone is left. And if harm should happen to him in the way in which you go, you would bring down my gray hair in sorrow to the grave.

And we said to my lord, The youth is not able to leave his father; and if he should leave his father, he will die.

and you shall do according to your wisdom, and shall not let his gray hair go down to Sheol in peace.

he makes a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be grayheaded.

And even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not leave me until I make known Your arm to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

The days of our years are seventy years; and if by strength we live eighty years, yet their pride is labor and sorrow; for it soon passes, and we fly away.

I have seen all the works which are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and striving after wind!

For God gives wisdom, and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight. But to the sinner He gives the task of gathering and to heap up, to give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and striving after wind.

I said in the cessation of my days, I shall go to the gates of Sheol; I must account for the rest of my years.

even to old age I am He; and I will bear to gray hair; I made, and I will lift up; and I will bear and deliver.
