And one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew; for he was living among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and Aner. And they were possessor of a covenant with Abram.
And I will give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojourning, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession and I will be to them for God.
And he drove all the livestock, and he took all his goods which he had gotten, livestock of his property which he had gotten in Padan-aram, to come to his father Isaac, to the land of Canaan.
And he said to him, Now go, see the welfare of your brothers, and the welfare of the flock, and bring word back to me. And he sent him out of the valley of Hebron. And he came to Shechem.

And it happened after this, David asked of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up to one of the cities of Judah? And Jehovah said to him, Go up. And David said, Where shall I go up? And He said, To Hebron.
And all the elders of Israel came to the king, to Hebron. And King David cut a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah. And they anointed David to be king over Israel.
And he gave a portion to Caleb the son of Jephunneh among the sons of Judah, according to the command of Jehovah to Joshua: the City of Arba, the father of Anak; it is Hebron.
