Genesis 31:42

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been for me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. God has seen my affliction and the toil of my palm, and last night He judged.

And Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of Adam had built.

And the Angel of Jehovah said to her, Behold! You are with child and shall bear a son; and you shall call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah has listened to your affliction.

And she called the name of Jehovah, the One speaking to her, You, a God of vision! For she said, Even here have I looked after the One seeing me?

And Isaac was terrified with a very great anxiety. And he said, Who then was the one who hunted game and came to me; and I ate from it all before you came; and I blessed him? Yea, he shall be blessed.

And Leah conceived and bore a son. And she called his name Reuben; for she said, Surely Jehovah has looked on my affliction, for now my husband will love me.

It is in the power of my hand to do you harm. But the God of your fathers spoke to me last night, saying, Be on guard for yourself that you do not speak with Jacob from good to evil.

And he said to them, I see your father’s face, that it is not toward me as before. But the God of my father has been with me.

The God of Abraham, the God of Nahor, the God of their father, let judge between us. And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

And Jacob said, Oh God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, Jehovah, who said to me, Go back to your land and to your kindred and I will deal well with you.

And let us rise up and go up to Beth-el. And I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress. And He was with me in the way in which I went.

And Israel and all which were to him departed, and he came to Beer-sheba. And he sacrificed sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

And David went out before them, and answered and said to them, If you have come to me for peace, to help me, I have a heart to unite with yours. But if to betray me to my adversary, there is no violence in my hand; the God of our fathers shall see and reprove.

And I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy; for You have seen my affliction; You have known the distresses in my soul,

And Jehovah said, Seeing I have seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry from before their taskmasters; for I know his sorrows.

Sanctify Jehovah of Hosts Himself, and He will be your fear, and let Him be terrifying to you.

I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers, who has given me wisdom and might, and has made me know what we ask of You. For You have made known to us the king’s matter.

And when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty.

But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil, he argued about the body of Moses; he dared not bring a judgment of blasphemy, but said, “Let the Lord rebuke you!” Zech. 3:2
