And Isaac sent away Jacob. And he went to Padan-aram, to Laban, the son of Bethuel the Aramean, brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau.

And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight to Nahor, the brother of Abraham.

And they ate and drank, he and the men who were with him; and they stayed the night. And they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away to my master.

And Isaac was a son of forty years when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Padan-aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to him for a wife.

And Jacob came to his father Isaac, to Mamre, to the City of Arba; it is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac resided.

Syria was your trader from the multitude of your works; with jewels, purple, and embroidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies they gave for your wares.

And Jacob fled into the field of Syria, and Israel served for a wife; even he kept watch for a wife.

And you shall speak and say before Jehovah your God, My father was a perishing Aramean! And he went down to Egypt and sojourned there with few men, and lived there, and became a nation there, great, mighty ones, even many.
