And he moved from there to a mountain on the east of Beth-el, and stretched his tent with Beth-el toward the sea, and Ai on the east. And he built an altar there to Jehovah, and called on the name of Jehovah.
And he came on a place and stayed the night there, for the sun had gone. And he took stones of the place and placed them at his head; and he lay down in that place.
I am the God of Beth-el, there where you anointed the pillar, where you vowed a vow to Me. Now rise up; go out of this land and go back to the land of your kindred.
And God said to Jacob, Rise up, go to Beth-el and live there. And make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled before your brother Esau.
And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where He had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. And he poured out a drink offering on it; and he poured oil on it.
And Elijah said to Elisha, Please stay here, for Jehovah has sent me to Beth-el. And Elisha said, As Jehovah lives, and your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they went down to Beth-el.
And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam and captured cities from him: Beth-el and its daughter-villages, and Jeshanah and its daughter-villages, and Ephrain and its daughter villages.
and the border went up from there to Luz, to the side of Luz (it is Bethel) southward, and the border went down to Atarothadar, near the hill that is on the south of the lower Beth-horon;
And all the sons of Israel went up, even all the people, and came to Beth-el, and wept. And they sat there before Jehovah, and fasted on that day until the evening, and caused burnt offerings and peace offerings to ascend before Jehovah.
And you will go on from there even further, and you will come to the great tree of Tabor. And you will find three men going up to God at Bethel, one bearing three kids, and one bearing three loaves of bread, and one bearing a skin of wine.
