And to the sons of the concubines who were to Abraham, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away eastward, from his son Isaac, while still alive, to an eastern land.
And Sarai, Abram’s wife, took her slavegirl, Hagar, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan.
And Abraham started up early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away. And she left and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
And it happened after Israel lived in that land, even Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine. And Israel heard. And the sons of Jacob were twelve.
And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines (for he had taken eighteen wives, and sixty concubines; and he fathered twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters).
And his possessions were seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and a very great household, so that this man was greater than all the sons of the east.
so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. Because He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and unjust.
And yet He did not leave Himself without witness, doing good, giving rain and fruitful seasons to us from heaven, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
