On account of this that place is called The Well of Sheba (Beer-sheba), because the two of them swore there.

And Abraham started up early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away. And she left and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.

And they cut a covenant in Beer-sheba. And Abimelech and Phicol, the general of his army, rose up; and they returned to the land of the Philistines.

And he went from there to Beer-sheba.

And they started up early at dawn, and each swore to his brother. And Isaac sent them away, and they left him in peace.

And he called it Shebah; so the name of the city is The Well of Sheba (Beersheba) until this day.

And Israel and all which were to him departed, and he came to Beer-sheba. And he sacrificed sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

So I counsel this: Gathering, let all Israel be gathered to you, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude. And you in person shall go into battle.

And they came into the fortress of Tyre, and all the cities of the Hivite, and of the Canaanite. And they went out to the south of Judah, to Beer-sheba.

And he saw, and rose up and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba of Judah, and left his young man there;

And Judah and Israel lived securely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree; from Dan even to Beer-sheba all the days of Solomon.

and at Hazar-shual, and at Beer-sheba, and its daughter-villages;

But do not seek Beth-el, and do not enter Gilgal, and do not cross over to Beersheba; for going Gilgal shall go into exile, and Beth-el shall be for nothing.

And all the sons of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, and the land of Gilead, to Jehovah at Mizpeh.
