And he lingered. And the men lay hold of his hand and his wife’s hand, and on the hand of his two daughters, Jehovah having mercy on him. And they caused him to go out, and they put him down outside the city.

And when the dawn rose, even the angels urged Lot, saying, Rise up, take your wife and your two daughters who are found, lest you be cut off in the depravity of the city.

If we had not delayed, truly now we would have returned this twice.

As the pity of a father over his sons, so Jehovah pities those who fear Him.

Who is the man who desires life, who loves days in order to see good?

But You, O God, are God, full of pity; and gracious, long before anger and rich in mercy and truth.

For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and rich in mercy to all who call on You.

And Jehovah passed by before his face and called out: Jehovah! Jehovah God! Merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and great in goodness and truth,

keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and not leaving entirely unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, and on sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

In all their affliction, He was not a foe; and the Angel of His Presence saved them. In His love and in His pity He redeemed them. And He bore them up, and He lifted them up all the days of old.

It is by the kindnesses of Jehovah that we are not consumed, for His mercies are not ended.

Jehovah is slow to anger, and of great mercy, bearing away iniquity and transgression; and by no means will clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation.

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

No one is able to come to Me if not the Father, the One having sent Me, draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

So, then, to whom He wills, He shows mercy; but to whom He wills, He hardens.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions and God of all comfort,

For Jehovah your God is a merciful God. He will not forsake you, and not destroy you, and not forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm. On account of this Jehovah your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

But because Jehovah loved you, and because He kept the oath which He swore to your fathers, Jehovah has caused you to go out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of slaves, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

not out of works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the bathing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

And Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, Go into the house of the woman, the harlot, and bring the woman out from there, and all whom she has, as you have sworn to her.

And He delivered righteous Lot, who had been oppressed by the behavior of lawless ones in unbridled lusts.

But the Lord knows to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unjust for a day of judgment, being punished,
