Ezra 8:17

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

And I sent them with command to Iddo, the chief of the place Casiphia, and I put in their mouth words to say to Iddo, to his brothers the temple-slaves, at the place Casiphia; that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.

And the king said, Is the hand of Joab with you in all this? And the woman answered and said, As your soul lives, my lord, O king, none shall turn to the right or to the left from all that my lord the king has spoken. For your servant Joab ordered me, and he put all these words in your servant’s mouth.

And you shall go to the king and speak with him according to this word. And Joab put the words into her mouth.

And the first of those who lived in their possessions in their cities were the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the temple slaves.

Then I sent for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, head men; also for Joiarib and for Elnathan, men of understanding.

And you shall speak to him, and you shall put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.

And Jehovah put out His hand and touched my mouth. And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

So Jehovah says this: If you turn back, even I will bring you back; you shall stand before Me. And if you take the precious from the worthless, you shall be as My mouth. They may turn back to you, but do not turn back to them.

And I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel; as a gift they are given to you by Jehovah, to serve the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

I shall raise up a Prophet to them from among their brothers, One like you; and I will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him.

For this cause I left you in Crete, that you might set in order the things lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I prescribed to you:
