Ezra 7:6

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

this Ezra went up from Babylon. And he was a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. And the king granted him all he asked, according to the hand of Jehovah his God on him.

And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed.

But the eye of their God was on the elders of the Jews, and they could not cause them to stop until the matter came to Darius. And then they sent back a letter concerning this.

And they performed the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy. For Jehovah had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to make their hands strong in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

And I, Artaxerxes the king, set out a decree to all the treasurers who are Beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the Law of the God of Heaven, shall ask of you, it shall be done exactly,

For on the first of the first month, he laid the foundation in order to go up from Babylon, and on the first of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of God on him.

and his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azareel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God. And Ezra the scribe was before them.

And I rose up in the night, I and a few men with me. And I told no man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem. And there was no animal with me except the animal that I rode on.

And I told them of the hand of my God which was good on me, and also the king’s words that he had spoken to me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they made their hands strong for good.

and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, so that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the temple which is for the house, and for the city wall, and for the house into which I shall enter. And the king granted it to me, according to the good hand of my God on me.

And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had broken their counsel, all of us returned to the wall, each man to his work.

And all the people gathered as one man into the plaza before the Water Gate. And they spoke to Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which Jehovah had commanded to Israel.

And on the second day were gathered the heads of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, were gathered to Ezra the scribe even to ponder the words of the Law.

And Ezra the scribe stood on a raised platform of wood which they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand were Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.

And Nehemiah the governor, and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Levites who made the people to understand, to all the people, This day is holy to Jehovah your God. Do not mourn or weep, For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the Law.

And You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them righteous judgments and true laws, good statutes and commandments.

and they will know that this is Your hand, that You, O Jehovah, have done it.

He declares His Word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.

So we will not backslide from You; make us live, and we will call on Your name.

in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Who knows why I have come, and no one is here? I called, and not one answered. Cutting short, is My hand cut short from ransom? Or is there not power in Me to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea; I make rivers a wilderness; their fish stink because of no water, and die in thirst.

Behold, the hand of Jehovah is not shortened from saving, and not is His ear heavy from hearing.

How do you say, We are wise ones, and the Law of Jehovah is with us? Behold, certainly the scribes have practiced deceit, the pen of the lie.

And He said to them, Because of this, every scribe schooled to the kingdom of Heaven is like a man, a master of a house, who puts forth out of his treasure new and old.

saying, The scribes and the Pharisees have sat down on Moses’ seat.

teaching them to observe all things, as many things as I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Did God not make the wisdom of this world to be foolish?

Now, brothers, I make known to you the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand,

And it shall be if listening you will listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, taking heed to do all His commandments which I command you this day, Jehovah your God shall give you to be on high above all nations of the earth.

See, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, as Jehovah my God has commanded me to do so, in the midst of the land where you are going in, to possess it,
